Our client wanted to build a web-based portal for finding healthcare providers

In the USA, choosing a dental care provider could be as easy as one walking into a healthcare center and dishing out as many dollars as one is requested to, or as complex as notes gathered from many phone calls to at least five different centers in one’s locale in an attempt to find the best possible dental plan for the entire family. For all one knows, post the extensive research and singing-up with the center that offered the best rate, tomorrow a neighbor might claim to have paid $10 lesser! A central-information and signup desk with a big list of dental care providers along with their rates and discounts offered on packages would well be the dental care seeker’s delight.

Challenge

Qatalys’ client, a third party administrator, wanted to build a web-based system for bringing
together providers and seekers of dental care. An online network of many dental care service providers and dental care seekers could make marketing- easy for the sellers, and offer to the consumers- a wide range of choices and an easy way to sign-up. Besides, service providers could coordinate with other healthcare centers to offer combination packages and discounts further improving their business. Such a system would thrive on ‘Discounts’ rather than health insurance. If this system could also allow access to agents and brokers, the market reach of the portal would only increase.

Qatalys leveraged the flexibility and capabilities offered by Microsoft’s .NET platform to develop an intuitive, user-friendly and easy to use web-solution that could interact with providers, members, networks, and administrators. The fully integrated Healthcare System also offers Plans Credentialing, Audits, Funding and Billing, Payment, Enrollment Process and Dynamic Reports modules.

Results

Our client was able to take the application live, ahead of schedule, with over 10,000 concurrent users without any issues being reported. The application was also able to reduce billing cycles from 3 days to 6 hours. The ease of use has allowed increased productivity, allowing our client to focus on growing their community.
