To better address the growing eCommerce market, our client’s primary objective was to increase their focus on product strategy and development. They needed to reduce time spent on activities like bug fixes, product enhancements and product patch development. All this while simultaneously improving time-to-market. The solution for them was to outsource certain processes to a highly skilled resource pool. Offshore development can be tricky however, particularly in eCommerce. To maintain full control of the project, our client needed clear and stringent protocols. When Qatalys was approached we quickly set to work creating an objective outline with our client. Our purpose was to keep the project focused, on schedule, and within budget.

Solution


For our client, Qatalys offered an Offshore Development Center (ODC) providing an end-to-end product enhancements and support framework. Backed by teams of offshore technical experts, Qatalys significantly reduced the total cost of ownership by bringing down costs associated with product development and support. Qatalys also maintained a variable employee pool for scalability whilst enhancing product reliability and functionality.

Results

When all was said and done Qatalys set up a dedicated offshore center in India, supported by our own infrastructure in the country. This facility was then connected seamlessly with knowledge-bases and collaboration management tools used by the client. This provided the client with access to data gathered by support personnel, thereby assisting them in product development. Our certified project management expertise was leveraged to set-up a configuration and version management process for managing the warranty support agreements, including Level 1 and Level 2 Support.

Early stage concept development and prototyping was done at significantly low investment due to Qatalys experience in taking abstract concepts to market. Our technology practice has enabled our client to build a sound support infrastructure that was both scalable and flexible.
