Qatalys’ Client is an Irish Government Funded Organization for Children with Special Needs.
History
Raising children with special needs is a demanding task – for parents, for educational institutes and for society as a whole. Whilst parents look up to specialists and special schools for support and guidance, the Government’s attitude towards such children largely influences the care and support they receive through special schools. For Governments which are aware of their social responsibilities and care enough to provide for children with special needs, establishing a system that will manage the children’s medical records, organize their visits to psychologists, communicate with parents or guardians, and evaluate various organizations involved in the development of children with special needs- are a few very basic yet important tasks which reflect their interests.
Situation Presented to Qatalys
Qatalys’ Client is an Irish Government Funded Organization for Children with Special Needs. The Client wants an application that will help them track facilities available at various schools for children with special needs, track personal and medical records of individual students, help schools coordinate pupils’ individual visits to Psychologists, and will help the organization decide if a child needs to be shifted to better facilities.
Key Challenges
- To create an evaluation system based on quality indicators, themes and questions, and allow for submission of supporting evidence
- To generate reports that will aid authorities in monitoring the performance of various schools
- To maintain pupils’ RON (Records of Need) and other confidential information online
- To validate given communication addresses against the Royal Mail PAF database
The Qatalys Solution
Qatalys developed a Mini ERP with:
- A tool that tracks individual pupil’s information, e.g., their personal psychologist contacts, guardians, consultations and forthcoming scheduled reviews.
- A website that allows psychologists controlled access to pupil records
- A flexible design of reporting offering customizable MIS reports
The Qatalys Advantage
Qatalys developed an API which can be used in web applications as well as on stand- alone programs. This facilitates the acquiring of addresses for a postcode and vice versa.
Qatalys also developed a web-based interface for the postcode and address find functions.
